When auto accidents occur that involve several vehicles, it can be extremely difficult to piece together what occurred, what led to the accident and who could possibly be at fault for any injuries suffered.  Such a situation seems to have played out over the weekend on the Las Vegas Strip, where three cars were involved in a collision.  Initial reports indicated that one woman was critically injured.

According to the Las Vegas Sun:

When you combine the risks and inherent disadvantages of riding a motorcycle with the unpredictable and extremely dangerous circumstances that always accompany a multiple-vehicle crash, the results can be devastating if not utterly tragic.  Sadly, these two elements appear to have conspired to take the life of a motorcyclist in Las Vegas last night when he was killed in a three-vehicle accident. 

According to the Las Vegas Sun:

Hit-and-run accidents are a serious problem anywhere, and that problem is only made worse when drivers accused of such conduct allegedly had alcohol in their systems at the time of the incidents.  There have now been two such alleged occurrences in the area in recent days, including one in which two people were killed and another in which the alleged driver fled on foot and was struck by a vehicle after two hit-and-run accidents.

According to the Las Vegas Sun:

Driving under the influence of alcohol or any other intoxicant is always a bad decision, and such conduct only increases the risks involved not only for that driver but for anyone else who is sharing the road at that time.  Tragically, two unsuspecting people paid the ultimate price for such a decision by a stranger yesterday when a crash led to their deaths on the highway near Henderson.

According to the Las Vegas Sun:

When two vehicles collide, the force of the collision can lead to unexpected and uncontrollable results given the weight and speed of the vehicles involved.  When a crash occurs and a rollover follows, the danger faced by those in the vehicle that rolls over only increases.  Tragically, one woman lost her life yesterday when two cars crashed into each other in the Las Vegas area.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal:

Fatal accidents will happen from time to time, particularly in a place like Las Vegas, where millions of visitors converge every year and where the activity level remains high throughout the night.  However, officials are becoming increasingly concerned in regards to the high number of traffic accident fatalities that have already been recorded less than two months into 2010.  The trend could be an aberration, but officials seem to be treating it with urgency.
