CDC Study Provides Stunning Numbers Regarding Costs of Car Accidents in US

According to this CDC study, which looked at accidents beginning in 2005, the costs incurred nationally for these car accidents is $99 billion per year.  In addition, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration added other costs to these car accidents including higher insurance premiums, taxes and the costs to the economy that result from traffic delays after this accident at more than $230 billion per year.  Overall, car accidents in the United States cost every licensed driver approximately $500 per year.
