"More than a dozen fatal accidents have plagued Southern Nevada roads in 2010, and the new year is barely two months old. While some agencies are seeing about the same number of fatal crashes this year as they did last year, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department says its numbers are already more than twice as high.
Nevada Highway Patrol officers have responded to three fatal crashes this year. Four people died from those accidents. Two of the victims perished in a rollover accident on Summerlin Parkway on January 26.
Authorities maintain our roads are still safe, but they urge drivers to take greater care when getting behind the wheel. "We do our best with traffic enforcement, DUI and checkpoints," Metro Police Sgt. Oscar Chavez said, "Unfortunately, we can't be everywhere all the time."
No one can be sure how this trend will play out, but if you or someone you love has been harmed in an auto accident, you need to secure the help of Las Vegas personal injury lawyers who have the experience necessary to hold those responsible for these situations accountable.
