According to the survey, Las Vegas is the 144th safest city in which to drive out of the 200 most populous cities in the United States. This means that the frequency and severity of Las Vegas car accidents place it towards the bottom 25 percent of all large cities in the country. Specifically, local drivers are 21 percent more likely to be involved in a Las Vegas car accident than the national average, and every Las Vegas driver will be involved in an accident every 8.3 years.
In a dubious bit of irony, Las Vegas actually improved its ranking from the previous survey, where it finished in the 153rd spot and drivers were 28.7 percent more likely to be involved in a car accident than the likelihood faced by drivers on a national scale. Clearly, this report is not positive in nature.
Other area communities fared somewhat better in the survey and rankings, including North Las Vegas, which finished in the 126th spot and Henderson, which was ranked as the 96th safest city. Reno is by far the safest driving environment in Nevada, as it was found to be the seventh safest city in which to drive.
While these rankings are done mostly to help insurance companies run their businesses, the fact is that these rankings are derived from real-world problems. Therefore, those who have been harmed in a Las Vegas car accident need to take action to protect and enforce their legal rights. If this includes you or someone you love, you need to seek the help of Las Vegas car accident lawyers who have been holding negligent and reckless drivers accountable for the harm they have caused for many years.
