According to police, the latest Las Vegas pedestrian accident occurred just before 5 a.m. on Saturday when a 16-year-old boy was struck by a Ford F-150 pickup truck at the intersection of Charleston Boulevard and Yew Avenue. The boy was attempting to cross Charleston Boulevard from the north to the south when Richard Bailey, 32, who was driving the pickup and moving in a westward direction on Charleston Boulevard, ran the boy down. The boy was transported to the hospital with critical injuries.
First and foremost, we'd like to extend our thoughts and hopes that the boy who was injured is able to overcome the harm done to him and get back on his feet. Unfortunately, this incident will only add to the statistics regarding Nevada pedestrian accidents. Every year, approximately 50 people are killed in these accidents, and while that may not seem like a large number, it equates to nearly one person every week being killed in Nevada pedestrian accidents.
If it turns out that the driver of the pickup truck was negligent, it could lead to the filing of a Nevada personal injury lawsuit against the driver. If such a case was successful, it could lead to an award of damages that includes medical costs and pain and suffering. If you or someone you love has been harmed in a Las Vegas pedestrian accident, you need the help of Las Vegas personal injury lawyers who have been successfully fighting for the rights of injured clients for many years.
