The Las Vegas pedestrian accident in question occurred at approximately 8:45 p.m. last night when a Las Vegas man who has yet to be identified was crossing the street on West Lake Mead Boulevard. He was crossing Lake Mead Boulevard from south to north at the road's intersection with Valley Drive. A westbound Ford Explorer ran into the man who was crossing outside the crosswalk, and subsequently a white SUV also collided with the man. He was killed at the scene and the white SUV fled the scene.
First, we'd like to extend our thoughts and condolences to the man who was killed. The type of contact that the Las Vegas police will make with his family is the type that no one should have to receive. Secondly, this fatal Las Vegas pedestrian accident will only add to the overall statistics in Nevada regarding these occurrences. Every year, approximately 50 people are killed in Nevada pedestrian accidents, which means someone is killed nearly every week.
Although more facts regarding this incident would need to be clarified, it's possible that the family of the man who was killed could have legal rights and options. If the family files a Nevada wrongful death lawsuit against the drivers, it's possible that they could recover damages for medical, funeral and burial expenses as well as loss of companionship. However, anyone who finds themselves in this situation will need the help of Las Vegas wrongful death lawyers who have been holding those responsible for losses like this one accountable for many years.
