Instructor, Studen Killed in Mesquite Skydiving Accident

Skydiving is an exhilarating experience, as anyone who has done this will state unequivocally.  Perhaps one of the biggest reasons that it's so exciting is because people are forced to overcome their fear of some sort of failure of the equipment.  Tragically, those fears were realized by a first-time skydiver and her instructor late last week when their parachutes failed to deploy in a jump and they were both killed in a Mesquite skydiving accident.  Government officials are continuing with their investigation of the incident.

According to the authorities, this fatal Mesquite skydiving accident occurred last week when a 75-year-old woman and her instructor, who had apparently experienced thousands of jumps, attempted to leap out of a plane and land on the ground after taking off from Skydive Mesquite, which is located at 1200 Kitty Hawk Drive in Mesquite.  The investigation has already revealed that neither the main parachute nor the backup chutes opened for either party, and both died when they hit the ground because of blunt force trauma.
