According to reports, the latest Las Vegas construction site accident occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Racel Street and Cimarron Road. A semi truck ran over a man's leg, and initially the driver of the truck did not realize what had happened. He returned to the scene after witnesses told him what had occurred and provided a statement to police. The injured man, whose identity was not released, was taken to a hospital.
First, we'd like to extend our thoughts and hopes that the man who was injured is able to recover quickly and get back on his feet. In addition, this incident will likely be added to the troubling statistics regarding construction site accidents across the United States. Every year, more than 1,000 people are killed on private construction sites and thousands more are injured in this setting.
If the injured man decides to file a Nevada personal injury lawsuit against the driver, more facts would need to be determined in order to clarify the direction of the enforcement of his legal rights. If the man was a worker on the site, it's possible that worker's compensation law could be relevant, unless the semi driver was working with a different company. However, if the man was merely a pedestrian, Nevada personal injury law would govern this situation.
