The latest Las Vegas pedestrian accident took place at approximately 1 a.m. on Thursday morning. It occurred when the pedestrians were crossing in the cross walk on Charleston Boulevard near the intersection with Las Vegas Boulevard. The vehicle was moving in a westward direction on Charleston in either a black or a blue sedan with a broken wind shield. After striking the pedestrians, the vehicle fled the scene. One pedestrian was listed in critical condition, but her status has since stabilized. The other pedestrian suffered a broken leg.
We'd first like to express our relief that the pedestrians who were hit will apparently survive. We'd also like to point out that more often than not, those involved with hit-and-run accidents ultimately tend to be apprehended to face criminal charges and civil liability. Unfortunately, this will only add to the overall statistics regarding Nevada auto accident statistics . Every year, thousands of such accidents occur and more than more than 50 people are killed in Nevada pedestrian accidents .
If or when the driver in this accident is ultimately caught, he will not only face criminal charges, but he or she could also likely face significant civil liability if the people who were hit file a Nevada personal injury lawsuit . If the lawsuit was successful, it could bring damages awards that include medical costs, pain and suffering among other things. If this has happened to you or someone you love, you need the help of Las Vegas personal injury lawyers who have years of experience in holding those responsible for this type of conduct accountable.
