Police Officer Seriously Injured in Suspected Las Vegas DUI Accident

According to the police, this suspected Las Vegas DUI accident occurred on Thursday morning just after 1:30 a.m. when Officer Tony McCleery, 54, was executing a traffic stop on Las Vegas Boulevard, south of Sunset Road near Town Square.  As he stood alongside another vehicle that was the subject of an investigation, the driver of a pickup truck, identified as 42-year-old Brandon Potts of Henderson, crashed into the parked motorcycle.  The force of that impact sent it forward, and it crashed into the officer, inflicting serious injuries.  Mr. Potts was arrested on suspicion of DUI-related charges.
