According to reports, the latest Las Vegas car accident occurred just before 8:30 this morning at the intersection of Maryland Parkway and Cactus Avenue. Witnesses stated that the driver of a Honda sedan ran through a stop sign on westbound Cactus Avenue and slammed into a police patrol vehicle. Three of the occupants of the Honda were injured, including one critically. All three people in the police cruiser, including two officers and a civilian, were also injured. No names of those involved have been released.
First, we'd like to send our thoughts out in hopes that those people who were injured are able to overcome their pain and suffering soon. In addition, this Las Vegas car accident will only add to the overall statistics regarding Nevada car accidents . Every year, thousands of people are injured and approximately 400 people are killed in these occurrences, and the numbers have held steady for several years.
Clearly, more facts would need to be uncovered before a full legal analysis of this Las Vegas car accident could be completed. However, the passengers who were injured would likely have legal rights and options available that include the filing of Nevada personal injury lawsuits against the driver who was negligent. If these lawsuits were filed and were successful, it could lead to damages awards that include compensation for medical costs, lost income and pain and suffering.
