"An 83-year-old woman died from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash Saturday in Boulder City, authorities said Sunday. The Boulder City Police Department responded at 5:06 p.m. Saturday after receiving several 911 reports of the crash at U.S. 93 and Lake Mountain Drive.
Authorities said a 2002 Honda Civic, driven by 88-year-old Andrew Jacobsen of Boulder City, pulled into the deceleration lane on U.S. 93 to make a left turn onto Lake Mountain Drive. While making the left turn, the Honda crossed two lanes of oncoming traffic and pulled into the path of a 1994 Ford pickup truck, police said.
The occupants of the pickup truck weren't injured, police said, although the driver, 35-year-old Jesus Romero of Las Vegas, was charged with DUI/drugs resulting in an accident."
While it appears that both drivers could be found at fault in this situation, if the driver of the truck is found to have consumed intoxicants, it could tilt the scale of liability against him.
