We posted late last week with regards to a terrible Reno plane crash that occurred during the National Championship Air Races that are held every fall. At the time, it was too early to know how many people had been killed or injured, but officials had predicted that there would be 'mass casualties' and it was also clear that many people had been injured. Now that there has been some time to investigate the situation, officials are beginning to release some statistics.
According to the authorities, the death toll from this Reno air races accident now stands at 11 people. Unfortunately, that number could still rise as at least seven others remain in critical condition. In addition, a total of 70 people were injured to some degree in the incident. This accident occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. last Friday when a plane that was racing suddenly veered out of control and crashed into an area where spectators were watching the race. One of the people who was killed was the pilot of the plane.
First, we'd like to offer our most sincere condolences to the families and friends of the people who were killed. Losing this many lives as a result of merely spending a day having fun is always truly tragic. We also hope that the people who were injured in this Reno plane crash are able to survive the harm they have suffered. In addition, this crash will now become part of the overall statistics regarding plane crashes. Every year around the world, nearly 150 commercial plane crashes take place that take the lives of nearly 1,000 people.
Even though officials have begun to provide details of this Reno plane crash, no cause for the incident has yet been identified. That could take some time and will hopefully be identified when the investigation is complete. However, the situation could lead to a large number of Nevada wrongful death lawsuits and Nevada personal injury lawsuits against the party or parties responsible for this terrible event once their identities are released to the public.
If you have lost someone you love in an accident, you need to seek the help of Nevada wrongful death lawyers who have been fighting for the rights of grieving families for many years. Contact Jack Bernstein & Associates today to schedule a free initial consultation.
