Man Killed in Crash That Leads to Arrest of Other Driver

Empty_Bottle_on_GroundAnyone who lives in Las Vegas understands that perhaps unlike most other cities in terms of prevalence, drunk drivers can be on the road at almost any given time. That's why people who live here tend to drive quite defensively, even on city streets. That said, few if any people would ever wonder if someone had been drinking when they see them on the road at 7 a.m., as that simply does not seem like a time when people would be out driving after consuming alcohol. Tragically, the man who was killed in a suspected Las Vegas DUI accident last weekend probably never even had a chance to consider whether the person who hit him had been drinking, as this was a crash that probably happened so fast that he never knew what was coming. Unfortunately, police arrested the female driver who allegedly caused the crash afterward on suspicion of DUI and other related charges. Neither of the names of those involved was released to the public. The accident at issue occurred on Saturday morning at approximately 7 a.m. A 33-year-old man was driving through the intersection of Wynn Road and Spring Mountain Road in a Ford sedan when he was hit by the 26-year-old female driver of a Hummer SUV who had been driving in a perpendicular direction. The man was only a few blocks from home at the time of the crash, and police suspect that the female may have run through a red light prior to the collision that took the man's life immediately. A 2-year-old girl riding in the backseat of the Ford managed to emerge from the incident unharmed. Sadly, nearly 400 people are killed in Nevada car accidents every year, and this crash will now become part of those statistics. Perhaps the family of the man who was killed will look into the possibility of pursuing a legal claim, as that could be an advisable step to take.
